The Hollywood Reporter just scooped TMZ by reporting on Ben Affleck’s reading list in this month’s cover story. Below are the books Mr. Affleck has, according to reports, been reading lately. In parenthesis? How the Norton Tumblr imagines he will talk about them at the Argo premiere parties:

1. Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell (Here’s the deal. I’m not here to waste your time. I’m going to keep this short. If you read this book you will make your first million in three years. Let me repeat that. You will make a million dollars within three years of reading this book. There is no question as to whether or not you will become a millionaire reading this book. The only question is how many times over. I read Cloud Atlas and I am a millionaire.)

2. Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn (I loved this book. Not in a friendly way. Not in a misplaced affection, puppy-dog way, although I’m sure that’s what you’ll call it. I love it. Very simple. Very truly. It is the epitome of everything I have ever looked for in a book. If bring this to light means we can’t hang out anymore then, that hurts me, but I couldn’t allow another day to go by without just getting it out there.)

3. Surviving Survival by Laurence Gonzales (Let me tell you what I think. Every day I come by your house and I pick you up. We go out, we have a few drinks, a few laughs and it’s great. You know what the best part of my day is? For about ten seconds, from when I pull up to the curb and when I get to your door. Cause I think maybe I’ll get up there and knock on your door and you’ll be reading Surviving Survival. I don’t know much, but I know that.)

To love Gone Girl is a correct thing.

The Fall of Arthur:

HarperCollins has announced the acquisition of Tolkien’s never-before-published poem The Fall of Arthur, which will be released for the first time next May. Running to more than 200 pages, Tolkien’s story was inspired by Geoffrey of Monmouth and Thomas Malory’s tales of King Arthur, and is told in narrative verse. Set in the last days of Arthur’s reign, the poem sees Tolkien tackling the old king’s battle to save his country from Mordred the usurper, opening as Arthur and Gawain go to war.
